FJ WORLDS 2017: Racing Day 2 Wrap-Up
A beautiful sunny Racing Day 2 is finishing also in our Race Office. For the end of the day we are giving you a few facts from the race course and results after 6 races.
Race 4 started at 6,6 kts and finished after almost 49 minutes at 8 kts of sea breeze.
During the day the wind shifted slightly to the left as predicted in the morning forecast – Race 4 was sailed at wind from 320 deg which during racing period shifted for 45 deg, so Race 6 was sailed at wind from 275 deg.
The wind was slightly picking up and last race of the day was sailed in pleasant 10-12 kts – typical summer sea breeze.
“This is the wind I like” said Guido Sol (NED 1316, currently 3rd), which we met in front of the Race Office and asked him, how was his day. What is really interesting is the average age of the boats – Guido for example sails a 42-year-old wooden boat. We will try to find the oldest and the newest boat sailing this Championship – mission for tomorrow 🙂
Race Committee came ashore pleased as they had more stable conditions than yesterday, when the wind was constantly changing in strength and direction.
We hope also competitors had a nice day on the water..if not until coming ashore they surely got pleased after pasta and typical Slovenian “potica”, hosted by FJ Team Slovenija.
Host of Tuesday evening was FJ Team Germany and we hope to get some photos to include them in our photo material as we heard it was a very nice evening and gathering.
Today we have also posted 2 photo albums and we will be happy to get more photos if there is anyone who would mind us publishing them. Race Office is never really closed 😉
