1st GoSAILING Performance Cup

19.09.2010 Racing Day 3 – Bora wind was just too strong – Live Feed

13:35 PRIZE GIVING IN A BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE

What a beautiful afternoon we have. Unfortunately Mother Nature was not generous with nice weather for the past three days, but has at least sent some sun rays to have a pleasant packing and prize giving (click here for photos from prize giving).
And the winners are…
…in Musto Performance Skiff Class: MITJA MARGON SLO 271
and
in A-Class: MIRKO PAOLI ITA 30.
CONGRATULATIONS!

12:05 BORA WIND STILL OVER 25 knt, NO RACING TODAY
RC was constantly checking the wind conditions in the bay, but never returned ashore with optimistic news. The stubborn Bora keeps on blowing and has no intention of dropping. So the PRO announced the same as yesterday: “No racing today, the GoSAILING Performance Cup 2010 is over”.

11:35 WIND STILL OVER 25 knt

Even though the wind isn’t so gusty any more, it is still too strong to start launching the boats. However some sailors decided to test it by themselves and sailed out for a training. In the mean time the sun started to bursting through the clouds and our hope to have some racing today just grew 🙂

If you want to check how today’s morning looked like, here are some photos.

10:40 WAITING FOR THE GUSTY BORA WIND TO CALM AND HAVING A NICE TIME CHATTING

09:50 COFFEE and DONUTS, WAITING FOR THE SKIPPER’S MEETING
Bora wind still blowing, the rain is gone, the sky is clearing up, forecast: in the afternoon the Bora wind is to decrease.
